Saturday, 09:00, doors open
A drive is a production line, not an open house.
Four hundred people, five stations, one exit outcome. Every candidate leaves knowing where they stand. Nobody waits a week for a result.
Venue floor plan
Five stations. Candidates move once, forward.
Backflow kills a drive. If a candidate has to walk back to registration for a missing photocopy, the queue behind them stalls and the four o'clock panel runs empty. The layout is fixed for that reason.
| Station | Staffed by | What happens | Throughput / hr |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01 · Registration | 2 coordinators | ID check, form, document photocopy set, token issued | 120 |
| 02 · Assessment | 2 invigilators, 20 headsets | Versant or SVAR, headset booth, score written to tracker | 80 |
| 03 · HR round | 3 recruiters | Shift confirmation, commute, CTC fitment, notice period | 60 |
| 04 · Client panel | Client ops, 2–4 panellists | Process fit, situational round, hire / no-hire on the sheet | 45 |
| 05 · Offer desk | 1 offer executive | Docket completion, BGV consent, provisional offer, joining brief | 40 |
Assessment station is the bottleneck at 80 per hour. Twenty headsets is the practical ceiling for a single hall; larger drives run two halls, not longer hours.
The checklist
Thirty-one items, signed off by Thursday.
The drive lead signs the checklist two days before, not on the morning. These are the items that have actually failed on us at some point.
- Venue booked with written confirmation, not a phone call
- Power backup confirmed with building facilities — item 7
- Twenty headsets tested, four spares charged
- Internet line plus a mobile hotspot fallback for the assessment station
- Printed forms for 500, tokens for 500, pens for 200
- Drinking water and two hundred paper cups
- Security desk briefed on expected footfall and building entry
- Client panel arrival time and parking passes
- Signage from the metro gate and the main road entrance
- Tracker sheet pre-loaded with the confirmed registration list
- Photocopy machine on site with a toner spare
Item 7 exists because of June 2019: three hundred people in a room, no air conditioning for forty minutes.

Where we run them
Two standing venues, both walkable from public transport, because a candidate who cannot find the building does not attend the drive.

Assessment
B2 means B2.
A CEFR floor that moves under pressure is worse than no floor at all — the batch clears induction and then fails the first month of client QA audits. We score on site, we score the same way every week, and we do not re-run a candidate to get a better number.
| Process type | Instrument | Floor | CEFR equivalent | Additional round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| International voice — US / UK | Versant English Test | 58 | B2 | Situational call simulation |
| International voice — APAC | Versant English Test | 52 | B1+ | Neutral-accent check |
| Domestic voice — Hindi / English | SVAR spoken English | 45 | B1 | Hindi fluency round |
| Blended voice + chat | Versant + typing test | 52 / 30 wpm | B1+ | Written grammar, 20 items |
| Chat and email support | Written grammar + typing | 35 wpm, 95% acc. | B2 written | Two-ticket writing sample |
| Non-voice back-office | Data-entry accuracy test | 98% acc. | — | Excel lookup round |
| Team leader / QA | Versant + case round | 58 | B2 | AHT, CSAT, shrinkage discussion |
Same-day scoring
Scores are written into the mandate tracker at the booth. Client panellists see the number before the candidate sits down. No score arrives after the drive has closed.
Calibration
Once a month our assessors and the client's QA team score the same five recordings blind. Variance above one band triggers a re-brief. Published to the client, whatever the result.
No re-tests to hit a target
A candidate below the floor is below the floor. If a mandate cannot fill at B2, we say the floor is wrong or the salary is wrong. We do not quietly pass people through.
Book a drive Saturday.
Give us fourteen days of notice for a 400-footfall drive, or seven for a 200. Panel slot and venue are confirmed in writing before sourcing starts.
